Ed Kellow is a seasoned Commercial Propmaster with a specialism in Product and Liquid styling. Known for creating innovative tabletop rigs for visual effects, Ed helps to realise imaginative concepts through a combination of technical skill, creative flair and physical accuracy.
Starting Out
Ed has been working within the entertainment industry since the age of 16. Having performed and worked in live theatre for the first ten years of his career, he forged a strong technical background as a Stage Manager and production Carpenter across the West End.
Notable Work: Jesus Christ Superstar, Joseph, Various Matthew Bourne productions including “The Nutcracker”.
Specialisation
Ed moved into the film and TV industry and quickly found that his technical background and attention to detail made him highly suited to work within the advertising industry. For the last fifteen years he has worked as a Commercial Propmaster, Product Stylist, Liquid Specialist and Beer Stylist, combining his theatrical and practical skills to build tabletop rigs so that bubbles, jets, slides, splashes and swirls can be imagined on film.
Liquid Styling
Ed particularly enjoys working with Beer and has extensive experience working with other fluids including spirits, oils, liquid metal, bubbles and foam. Ed has worked alongside many tabletop directors, assisting them to achieve great results that would normally require a full special effects team.
Rigs
Ed is comfortable working with high speed and motion control shots. In his workshop at Twickenham studios he has produced many rigs for tabletop liquid and food shots. Throughout his career, Ed has enjoyed working in a collaborative manner. He is regularly called upon to consult at the planning stage of a shoot to advise on how best to capture the essence of the product or liquid in question.

Ed is a passionate advocate for the future of the industry and has regularly supported those starting out in their careers.
